One of the biggest mistakes (the biggest, if you will) that beginners make in the Internet Marketing is not having a product to sell. This mistake is the cause of failure of 99% of aspiring marketers. Unfortunately, we see so many IM products out there that claim to make you money without having nothing to sell. That, however, is the biggest BS and only leaves a lot of people frustrated and clueless of what has happened (or what went wrong).

Not to say that all of the IM products are useless – many of them are great, they explain great techniques and methods. But to sell better, 99% of them hype things up and fail to mention that you absolutely must create a valuable product in order to sell it.

And this applies to absolutely every are of the Internet marketing. Even if you’re just an affiliate who is selling products of others, you still must provide a valuable product in order to successfully sell what you’re selling. You must add value to everything you do.

The first thing taught in every single IM product should be this. In every step you do, think of what value you provide to the target users. If that value is big enough, you will succeed.

Almost every single online failure can be traced down to on single point of failure. And that’s a bad bargain for the target market. Let’s take some real life examples to illustrate this.

A popular way to do affiliate marketing these days is abusing Twitter. People would sign up for it, follow hundreds of people who in turn would follow them back, and then they would blast affiliate links at them. Similar things are going on everywhere – on forums, blogs, social networks. This is often considered as spam, and often rightfully so.

What’s wrong in this picture? There’s no value. What value to the end user is of seeing hundreds of ads blasted at them? None. Many people even get offended by it, which only means caused harm. You will never sell anything like this. And even if you do make some obscure sales, they will not build you a solid business.

So what do you have to do? Blasting your affiliate links takes lots of time, so it baffles me why would people even do that. All that effort wasted in vain, would better be spent creating something of value. But people mistakenly think that they would not be able to sell what they’ve created and that would be just extra effort and extra risk. That can’t be further from truth.

Ask anyone who has ever created a product, even if that’s just a free e-book, and they will tell you that if there at least some interest in your product, people will buy it, people will talk about it, people will sell it for you. Not to mention the partnership opportunities that open up for you, that can make all the difference in your online business.

It only makes sense to create value for it sells itself almost automatically. That is the really key to success in the Internet Marketing.
